About the Patronate

The Patronate of the President of the Jagiellonian University PhD Student Association aims to promote the scientific, cultural and popularization activities of doctoral students. The Patronate may cover various projects, in particular organized by doctoral students or for doctoral students. In 2024, this new, formal Patronate, was introduced instead of previous "informal" patronate and is currently the only option to receive official TD UJ support of the event. The Patronate is awarded individually by the TD UJ President after seeking the opinion of the Management Board.

What can be gained for the event with the Patronate?

Taking the project under the patronage of the President of the Jagiellonian University PhD Student Association results in the possibility for the organizer to apply for:

  • promoting the project in the information channels of the Jagiellonian University PhD Student Association (website, Facebook page, Instagram account) - in a manner agreed with the event organizer;
  • obtaining promotional gadgets of the Jagiellonian University PhD Student Association (in the number and type determined by the JU PhD Student Association in consultation with the organizer);
  • active or passive presence of a representative of the Jagiellonian University PhD Student Association in the event.

Duties of the organizer

On the part of the event organizer, receiving the patronage of the President of the Jagiellonian University PhD Student Association is connected with the obligation to include information about the patronage of the President of the JU PhD Student Association and the logo of the JU PhD Student Association in published promotional materials.

Obtaining the Patronage of the President of the Jagiellonian University PhD Student Association does not provide for financial support for the event. Financial support may be granted only through a competition for co-financing the scientific activities of doctoral students, which is conducted separately (more information here).
