Dear International Students at JU! Dear Doctoral students at JU! As a part of a sociological research on the social impact of COVID-19 on international students, we would like to sincerely welcome you to participate in an online focus group interview to share your experiences on Wednesday May 27th from 16:00-17:30.If you wish to participate, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up (spaces are limited!).
We are two researchers and academic teachers from the Jagiellonian University – Dr Karolina Czerska-Shaw (Institute of European Studies), and Dr Ewa Krzaklewska (Institute of Sociology) – and our main area of research is migration/youth mobility. We would like to reach out to international students studying at the Jagiellonian University so that they may share their experiences / challenges during the COVID-19 crisis. The focus group is an open group discussion format (5-6 people per focus group) where you’ll be able to hear and see other participants during the video-conferencing meeting, where you will be asked open questions to discuss and share your thoughts. All responses will be anonymised for the purpose of the research findings. The meeting will take place on the secure MS Teams network and will be recorded for the purposes of research data.
This project is financed by the SocietyNow! #1 grant competition within the framework of the Excellence Initiative Programme at the Jagiellonian University.
We warmly welcome all international students at JU to participate, including PhD students. Your reflections and experiences are valuable to us and will be used to provide a set of recommendations to programme managers and university units involved in international student support services.
We look forward to hearing and ‘seeing’ you!
