The Culture Committee of the Jagiellonian University’s PhD Student Association invites you to the first Doctoral Students’ Film Club in the 2021-2022 academic year, which will be held in the White Auditorium of the Cinema Under the Rams (Rynek Główny 27) on Thursday December 16th at 6:15 PM. This time, we will watch the film Dune; the viewing will be preceded by a brief introduction by film critic Łukasz Grela.

Dune tells the story of Paul Atreides’ unusual adventure and emotion-filled journey. A wonderful destiny awaits this brilliant and talented young man, one not even he can grasp. First, however, Paul must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to save his family and compatriots. A bitter conflict concerning access to a very precious substance that is not found anywhere erupts. It liberates people’s greatest potential within them. However, only those who can overcome their own fear will survive the war.  

 

Admission is free for doctoral students at the Jagiellonian University, although the number of participants is limited. We ask all who are interested to send an email to filip.mazurczak@doctoral.uj.edu.pl by Wednesday December 15th. Because of the current restrictions, only one-third of participants can be unvaccinated. In your email, please indicate if you have been vaccinated against COVID-19. Filip Mazurczak, the coordinator of the Doctoral Students’ Film Club, will send you a COVID vaccination declaration, which you will have to sign and bring to the cinema next Thursday.
